DESCRIPTION:Join Jeanne Grieve from the Stoneham Garden Club to learn more about the history and rich architectural detail of Stoneham’s Tudor-style Whip Hill Mansion – and the extraordinary couple who created it. \n\n\n\nThis beautiful Tudor-style mansion was built in the 1930s by James B. and Angie Crockett. The couple made their fortune in rubber products\, inventing new processes to produce rubber goods. They both loved the outdoors\, sailing\, and gardening.  Whip Hill was used as a family residence until 1968 when it was presented to the Town of Stoneham by Mrs. Crockett as a memorial to her husband. The gift of the 30-acre estate created a remarkable natural resource and Whip Hill Park has become a prized recreation area for the enjoyment of all Stoneham residents.
