National History Day Exhibits at Open House

How did a pig almost start a war? Find out Sunday as SHSM hosts National History Day exhibits at its open house (2-4 pm).

Two Stoneham students received medals at the regional National History Day competition and earned an honorable mention at the state competition:

Nauli Sianturi – Individual Exhibit – Pig V. Potato: The Squabble Over The San Juan Islands
Nora Kennedy – Individual Exhibit – George Angell’s MSPCA: Taking on the Responsibility of Protecting Animal Rights

National History Day is a national competition that invites students in grades 6-12 to research a historical topic based on an annual theme and present their findings in a documentary, exhibit, website, paper, or performance. Stoneham is a powerhouse in the annual competition and hosts one of the regional competitions each year.

The Stoneham Historical Society & Museum exhibit is free and open to the public. Join us in saluting the historians of the future.
