Community Partners

Stonehahistoryday

As with any community nonprofit, the Stoneham Historical Society & Museum places great value on the relationships that we have develop within our local community. We have partnered with several nonprofits and local agencies that in one way or another have been generous to the society and to these friends we say thank you!

The Stoneham Senior Center is one of the most active Senior facilities in the area and services and has been an important Community Partner in several of our programs, such as a venue for the Merry Minstrels singing ensemble. We look forward to many future collaborations. Visit them at www.stonehamseniorcenter.org

We are excited that the Garden Club graciously offered to design and maintain a beautiful garden adorned with perennial succulents in the front yard of our Museum! Keeping with the spirit of Stoneham as a shoe town, the current design is of a fashionable turn-of-the-century lady’s shoe. The project is completed and is a beautiful reminder of Stoneham’s history!

The Stoneham Historic Commission is a town-appointed entity that oversees architecture and historically significant entities that pertain to or concern the Town. We work closely with the Commission on items of mutual concern and annually co-sponsor a May program in honor of Historic Preservation month. And everyone confuses us!  The Stoneham Historical Society & Museum receives no funding from the Town of Stoneham and as a nonprofit, we are responsible for raising our own funds to cover all costs for maintenance of the Museum and historical programs.

Stoneham Chamber of Commerce — As a member of the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce. We have formed a meaningful relationship and we can depend on the Chamber to go well and beyond expectations on behalf of the community.

The children of Stoneham are our future and we maintained a solid relationship with the Stoneham School Department. From the Third-grade history program to History Day, the encouragement and support of  administrators and teachers are pertinent to the success of our programs.
