Join us for a special Veteran’s day program on November 11, the 102nd anniversary of Armistice Day.  Local Historian Dr. Dolly Wilson will talk about military artifacts in our collection and the role of Stoneham during the First World War.  As part of the ‘”Yankee Division,” Stoneham and other New England men were among the first Americans to reach France and see battle.

But the First World War also saw unprecedented efforts to involve civilians in supporting the war – from Red Cross volunteers and Liberty Loan campaigns to Victory Gardens and the first widespread use of women war workers.
