Since Mother Nature did not cooperate with our Monthly opening on Sunday, we are translating one of our exhibits that we set up for Black History Month online. The exhibit, 150 + Years of Service – The Cephas, Reed and Yancey Families, will remain up at least through March, but is also now viewable online, the first of many as the Museum continues efforts to make the collections more available to the public.

Learn about generations of an extraordinary Stoneham family with a host of firsts – sailors in the Civil War and Spanish American War, the first African-American state representative in Massachusetts, a World War II war correspondent who interviewed Gen. MacArthur, Vietnam soldiers who earned two bronze stars, and the first active African-American Massachusetts State Police Trooper.
