The Bags are Back

SHSM benefits from Stop & Shop Give Back reusable grocery bag program

Store leadership at Stop & Shop’s Stoneham location has selected the Stoneham Historical Society & Museum to receive a $1 donation from every purchase of the $2.50 Stop & Shop GIVE BACK reusable grocery bag for the entire month of January.

This Community Bag Program facilitates local support with the goal to make a difference in the cities and towns where shoppers live and work. More than $2.1 million has been donated to over 5,000 local nonprofits since the Program launched in May, 2019. Last May, SHSM received over $231 from the program.

“We were thrilled to receive the notification from Stop & Shop that we were selected again for this thoughtful program”, remarked SHSM President Steve Rotondi. “The donations we received from the same program last spring helped underwrite our many free programs and speakers. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to participate again.”

The Stoneham Historical Society & Museum is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer nonprofit group begun in 1922 with “Pride in our past; Faith in our Future”. Learn more about the SHSM by visiting www.stonehamhistoricalsociety.org.
