Joint annual meeting of the Stoneham Historical Society & Museum with Stoneham Historic District Commission on Thursday, May 9th.

The joint annual meeting between the Stoneham Historical Society & Museum and the Stoneham Historic District Commission presents, “Paul Revere–Beyond the ‘Midnight Ride.”  The month of May is Historic Preservation Month, and in recognition the SHSM and the SHDC are co-sponsoring a presentation about Massachusetts Patriot Paul Revere.  Dr. Robert Shimp, Director of Research and Adult Programming for the Paul Revere House and the Paul Revere Association will be presenting  on this this legendary hero who was made famous by Walt Whitman’s famous poem.

Who really was this Son of  Liberty and Tea Party participant and what prompted his ferocious appetite for freedom?  Find out on Thursday, May 9th at 7:15 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. to walk about the Museum.  There will be a brief business meeting where the election of officers will take place, followed by the speaker.  As always, the event is free and open to the public and there is ample parking across the street from the Museum, located at 36 William St. Stoneham.
