How many towns have two Olympic medalists named Nancy? We’re the only one! Seen in the Tidbit picture are Nancy Graham and Nancy Kerrigan at a 1996 Stoneham Historical Society event.
In 2024, SHSM contributed several photos to a special online exhibit about women Olympians at the Massachusetts Women’s History Center. See timeline at www.mawomenshistory.org. We loaned several photos of Stoneham’s women Olympians including one of Nancy Graham (then Nancy Luddington) with her partner Roland Luddington. The pair won multiple national championships and the Bronze medal in pairs figure staking in 1960.

The other Nancy is of course, Nancy Kerrigan, who won Bronze and Silver Medals in Figure Skating in 1992 and 1994.

Nancy Kerrigan posed with members of the Museum board in the downpour at the 2024 Stoneham Town Day. We’re honored to have a pair of her ice skates and one of her skating costumes in the collection.
